Mandolyn + Nathan
Family is not defined by how it begins, but by how deeply we love, commit, and grow together. We want you to know that we truly recognize the strength, courage, and love that it takes to consider adoption. Our desire to adopt comes from a deep place in our hearts and our belief that family is built through love, commitment, and intention. Although there is sadness that comes with infertility, we have never let that define us because Adoption was always something we had in our family plan. Whatever you decide, we pray that you experience peace, comfort, and confidence in knowing that you are making the best decision for you and your baby.
Hello,
We are so grateful that you are taking the time to read our profile and see a glimpse of our story. We can only imagine how overwhelmed you must feel. We want you to know that we truly recognize the strength, courage, and love that it takes to consider adoption.
As you view our profile, we hope you are able to get a sense of the love we share and the life we hope to continue to build through adoption. We believe that adoption starts with love from both sides, and we have a profound respect for the role you play and will continue to play in your child's story.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity and privilege of being considered!
NICE TO MEET YOU.
Nathan Mandolyn
The Story of Us
In July of 2014, Mandolyn was in her second year working at Bass Pro Shops, while Nathan had just started working there and saw Mandolyn at the front of the store handing out beef jerky samples (how romantic!). Mandolyn thought to herself, "Who is that and why is he smiling so big about beef jerky??"
Fast forward to September of 2014, Mandolyn approached her friend/coworker, Dana, to say hi, and there was the beef jerky guy again. Dana introduced us, then Mandolyn went about her day, only to receive a text later from Dana that said: "OMG Nathan thinks you are cute".
One Whale emoji was sent from Nathan to Mandolyn via Twitter DM later, and the rest is history!
Nathan asked Mandolyn's parents for their permission, and then he proposed Thanksgiving of 2015 in front of her entire family. It was so special, and she was totally surprised! We got married on November 4th, 2016, at a beautiful venue in Angleton, Texas called Magnolia Manor at The Springs. We went to Whataburger after the wedding, and the employees and customers really got a kick out of that!
Why We Want to Adopt
If there was ever one thing that we both knew without a doubt, it was that we want to be mom and dad one day! When Mandolyn was little if you asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up it was always the same answer and still is- "A Mom". Nathan grew up with two older brothers and his family fostered multipe children as well as his mom running a home daycare so building a family of his own is something that has always been a dream for him.
Our desire to adopt comes from a deep place in our hearts and our belief that family is built through love, commitment, and intention. From her teen years, Mandolyn always knew that she might struggle to conceive naturally due to an irregular cycle. So it was no surprise that when we made the decision to grow our family, it was not an instant success. Although there is sadness that comes with infertility, we have never let that define us because Adoption was always something we had in our family plan.
Now, after 7 years of trying to conceive, while still focusing on creating a beautiful life together, we have decided to pursue our dream of building our family through adoption!
MEET Mandolyn
Hi, my name is Mandolyn! I graduated from High School in 2012, where I grew a fond love of marching band and playing the flute. While I do not play the flute anymore, my creative spirit is still evident! I love anything arts and crafts or a good DIY home project. I have done a few craft shows where I sold my upcycled sweaters and other homemade crafts. I also enjoy attending and hosting the monthly ladies' book club in our neighborhood. My favorite thing is being an auntie to all of my nieces and nephews and a dog mom to our 3 pups. I am a big advocate for mental health and people taking care of themselves. I believe that showing up for others starts with showing up for yourself. This journey to grow our family through adoption has been nothing short of magical, and I am over the moon to continue.

What Nathan loves about Mandolyn: Mandolyn is the most supportive and loving person in the world. She is more than just a beautiful person; she is a beautiful soul. She's quirky, funny, and silly. She'll do anything for those whom she loves. Mandolyn is the love of my life and the mother of our future children.
Meet Nathan
I'm someone who enjoys the simple, meaningful parts of life. Being outdoors, working hard, and spending time with the people I love. My work as an operator has developed a strong sense of responsibility, consistency, and pride in providing a stable and secure home. Growing up, I played football and baseball, and they both taught me teamwork and discipline that still guide me in life today. Most of all, I'm excited about the opportunity to become a dad and provide a child with a loving, supportive, and safe home where they feel valued and deeply loved.
MY HOBBIES
- Hunting
- Fishing
- Cooking and BBQ Golfing
- Video games
MY OCCUPATION

What Mandolyn loves about Nathan: There are so many things to love about Nathan, like the fact that he is always the person to grab the item from the top shelf for the little ol' lady at the grocery store. Or that he is constantly in motion and strives to be the best version of himself and provide for our family. He has worked so hard to create the life that we dreamed of. But I have to say my favorite thing about Nathan is that whenever I am with him, I feel safe, and I know that as long as he is with me, I will always be protected. I am forever grateful that God chose him to be my husband, and I cannot wait to see him in the new role of DAD!
Our Family + Friends
Mandolyn's family- Mandolyn was raised by her mom and dad in their family home, which her dad still lives in today. Unfortunately, her beautiful mother, Mary, passed away from cancer in 2016. Her dad, Matt, has since remarried a wonderful lady, Kasey, who Mandolyn adores.
Nathan's family- Nathan was raised by his mom and dad (Jean&Jim) with two older brothers (Michael&Anthony). Nathan was born in Illinois, but due to his dad's job moved to Colorado for a few years in high school before landing in Texas his junior year.
Our friends- While we have many friends that we keep in close contact with and see often, our best friends happen to live right next door to us, and we are the Godparents to their 1-year-old daughter, Lucy!
MEET Hudson Stanford, Bean Herry, And Lola Tate
Hudson Stanford
Hudson was our very first baby together! We adopted him from the Houston Humane Society as a puppy. He was born in August 2015 (Same year and month as our niece, Addison!). Hudson has always been the bestest boy, and now in his old age, he mostly enjoys lounging in his dog bed and demanding dinner at 6 pm sharp!
Bean Herry
Beau is a certified mama's boy and can be found wherever Mandolyn is. He is a Goldendoodle and was born in December 2020. He has the best personality and loves to play fetch, swim, and make new friends (dog and human)!
Lola Tate
Lola is 94% french bulldog and 6% boston terrier. She was born in October 2022. She is the true queen of the house and keeps her big brothers in line. You can find her snuggling up next to Beau to keep warm. She loves to play fetch and will destroy any dog toy in under 10 seconds. Lola has been obsessed with the nursery and spends a lot of time in there with us, helping prepare.
Home Is Where The Heart Is!
We absolutely love our house located in a small town south of Houston! Our house is 3 bed 2 bath a study. We purchased our home as a new build in October of 2022, and we got to choose a lot of the finishing touches that made it exactly what we were looking for. We like to fill our home with items that we love, and we curate our spaces to make them warm, cozy, and inviting. Our favorite thing about our home is when it is filled with people we love, and Nathan has something yummy on his smoker out back!
OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMMUNITY - When we were looking at potential neighborhoods, we knew right away that this would be the perfect one to raise our future child in. It is full of young families and lots of children! Every year, our HOA hosts an end-of-summer bash right before the kiddos go back to school with food, snow cones, water slides, water balloon fights, and bouncy houses! It is truly a blast and so fun to see the neighbors all come together. Our neighborhood also features a covered bus stop and a playground with an attached splash pad!
Our very favorite thing about our neighborhood is how everyone decorates for the holidays! On Halloween, our neighborhood is a safe place for a lot of the town to come trick-or-treating. In 2025, we passed out candy to almost 500 kids!!
Although our town is what most would consider small, we have everything we need nearby. Our favorite thing about it is all of the locally owned restaurants to try and the rec center that has a pool!
The Nursery
This is our favorite room in the house. Soft, fun shades of green wrap with the cutest duck wallpaper, creating a gentle space that feels both fresh and comforting for a new baby. A cozy little crib for our little one. We wanted this room to be ready for late-night rocking and early morning play.
A wooden bookshelf nearby holds a small but meaningful collection of adoption storybooks--each one chosen with care, ready to help tell the baby their story with love, honesty, and pride. We look care to make sure this room creates warmth and belonging.
The nursery feels peaceful but full of meaning--a place where a child will grow surrounded by tenderness, where their story is already honored, and where every detail, from the ducks on the walls to the books on the shelf, quietly says: you are wanted, you are loved, and you are home.
Fun Facts
- WE MET REID FLETCHER. WHEN HE PLAYED SANTA DURING THE HOLIDAYS FOR THE FREE PHOTOS THAT BASS PRO OFFERS. WHEN HE FOUND OUT WE WERE ENGAGED HE OFFERED TO BE OUR MINISTER! WE ASKED IF HE COULD BRING HIS SANTA SUIT WITH HIM SO THAT WE COULD TAKE THIS PICTURE TO SHOW OUR FUTURE KIDS, AND HE PLAYED ALONG!
- Christmas is our favorite holiday! We go all out on decorating inside and outside, and it only gets bigger every year. We typically host Mandolyn's family at our house on Christmas Eve with a big meal, games, and presents. On Christmas morning, we wake up and exchange gifts with each other and let the dogs open their stockings. Once we finish that, we go next door, make breakfast, work on a Christmas puzzle, and exchange gifts with Brooke, Travis, Lucy, Belinda, and Loren (Brooke's mom and step-dad). On Christmas afternoon, we head over to Nathan's mom and dad's and spend the rest of the day celebrating with his side of the family! We are so blessed to be able to spend so much time with loved ones. We look forward to making Christmas magical for our future Children!
