Kelsey + JD
Hey mama, we are JD and Kelsey. We don't know what your story is, but we would love to hear it, and maybe share ours with you. The main thing you need to know about us is that we love Jesus; love for Him influences all we do, and it will inform how we raise children as well. We have been married for almost seven years, and have survived several moves (even across the country), but now we're settled up north in a pretty (and very big) cabin on a lake. We have two cats (Moose and Marley), two dogs (Maxine and McCoy) and about 20 laying hens (who don't all have names, unfortunately, haha). We love to go to state/national parks, visit with friends and family, and we have different hobbies, which you can learn about on our page. Most importantly, we would love to grow our family with adoption, and we hope you could be part of our journey. Whatever you choose, we want what is best for you and your baby. Hi! I'm JD, and I love Jesus. I drive a water truck for work, but I also know how to weld and do a lot of woodworking and mechanic work. I am a retired saddle bronc rider and team roper (I was a header). I LOVE Dr. Pepper, MASH (an old TV show; if you know, you know), and Flaming Hot Cheetos. My dog, Maxine (a red-tri Australian Shepherd) is my shadow and goes everywhere with me. I hope to one day have a little boy or girl to shadow me, too.
Random Facts About Me:
-I sing if I'm happy, and I can actually keep up with a melody to the song even if I change the words.
-I am an excellent swimmer and have a PADI dive certification; Kelsey is able to snorkel.
-I got to dive with sharks at Bass Pro's largest aquarium in Springfield, Missouri!
Kelsey
Hey! I'm Kelsey, and I love Jesus! I am a physician assistant, and I treat patients from newborns to older folks. I know how to play some piano, shoot archery, and I know American Sign Language. I also like to cook, bake, and crochet, though I am not very crafty! I love to read and I am always interested in learning new things. My dog, McCoy (a blue merle Australian Shepherd) follows me everywhere, but one day I hope to have a little boy or girl that will follow me!
Random Facts About Me:
-I can pull my own espresso shots (but JD thinks it's just 'hot bean water').
-I am able to speak passable Spanish and I am trying to learn more to help my patients every day!
-I have spent a summer in west Africa and LOVED IT. I have been to Mexico several times but only recently made my first trip into Canada...it was COLD.
Fun Times!
We love to spend time outside, and recently got the chance to visit Yellowstone and Big Sky, Montana! We also love to take our dogs to the national parks nearby, if we can. Random facts about us:
-We love totchos (nacho tator tots).
-We binge-watch old sitcoms (currently "Frasier" and "The Golden Girls"), but we also enjoy different shows (I have a soft-spot for "Murder, She Wrote", and JD loves "Hell's Kitchen" and "Master Chef").
-We make it a point to buy a Christmas ornament for every place we visit. We currently have ornaments for the island of Grenada, Mt Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Monument, Las Vegas, and Yellowstone (among others).
Vacation March 2024
JD and I (Kelsey) have been on vacation to Branson, Missouri! We both got to see our families as they drove in as well. JD was able yo see his parents, both brothers, and all his nephews, but one sister in law and all his nieces didn't make it because of sporting events. I got to see my mom, my sister and her husband, and my sweet little niece and nephew. We went to the Bass Pro Aquarium (JD actually dive with sharks there a few years ago), spent a day at Silver Dollar City, went Zip-Lining through the Ozark treetops, and attended Dolly Parton's "Stampede." We had so much fun! There were many delicious meals, lots of laughs, and a few tears when we had to pack up and leave. It was a wonderful time, and we hope to be able to make these same kind of memories with our own adopted baby someday!!

Disney 2024
We had the privilege to go on vacation to Walt Disney World this summer!
Summer Vacation 2024
Hello mom! We just recently had the amazing privilege to visit Walt Disney World in Florida for summer vacation this year (and Kelsey also had a medical conference). We were able to "tour around the world" in Epcot and we got to see some researchers testing a dolphin's memory and cognition. We even found our family names in a crest book in "England!" We went to Hollywood Studios and got to watch a Muppets production (who doesn't love Kermit?!), bounce along on "Slinky Dog," and check out a Star Wars ride! The day we visited Magic Kingdom it rained cats and dogs, but we didn't let that dampen our fun! We enjoyed seeing all our favorite Disney Charactes, swash-buckling along in Pirates of the Caribbean, and we enjoyed the FANTABULOUS fireworks show! Our last day was in Animal Kingdom, and we enjoyed soaring on Avatar's "Flight of Passage," going on Safari to seel all the animals, and we even got to see veterinarians x-ray a sea turtle on "Rafiki's Planet Watch" behind the scenes. All in all, it was a VERY fun vacation, and we hope to be able to experience it all again someday with our baby!
