Our hearts are open to growing our family through adoption, and we would be honored to be considered, but most of all, we want you to feel supported and confident in whatever path you choose.
With love,
Rebecca and Justin
Where it Began
We met through mutual friends who had decided to go line dancing one night. We both got up to do one of the line dances. Rebecca was not familiar with (you switched partners throughout the song), and Rebecca was left on the dance floor, not knowing what she was doing. That became our joke. After the song, Rebecca was joking with Justin about leaving her for another partner, and that was how we started our relationship. We both knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, and after 6 years, we said, "I do!"
Our Why
Adoption is how we became a family, and it has truly been the greatest blessing in our lives. Welcoming our son, Connor, was the best thing that has ever happened to us. He is such a sweet, happy, and loving little boy. He has made us fall in love with adoption in a whole new way.
As we look to grow our family, we know adoption is the path meant for us. We have so much love to give and would love for Connor to have a sibling to grow up with and share life with.
We have so much respect for the strength and love it takes to consider adoption, and it would be an incredible honor to be part of your story.
Meet Justin...Through Rebecca’s Eyes
I was first attracted to Justin because of his sense of humor. He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly. Early on, he shared stories about his niece and nephew and how much he loved spending time with them. Family is very important to me, so it meant a lot to see how much it means to him, too.
Justin is smart, funny, hardworking, and incredibly kind. He is always there for the people he loves. When we were dating, a hurricane flooded my parents' basement. Even after working all night, Justin showed up with coffee for everyone and brought a generator to help. That is just the kind of person he is: thoughtful, dependable, and always willing to help.
He truly cares about others and goes out of his way for people whenever he can. But one of my favorite things has been watching him become a dad. He is so loving, patient, and playful with Connor, and you can see how much joy he gets from being with him. Whether they're playing, reading, or just being silly, Connor absolutely adores him. Justin has always wanted to be a dad and it's been so special to see that come to life. He was truly made for it.
Facts About Justin
Justin loves fishing and crabbing and cannot wait to share those moments with our children one day. He enjoys planting vegetables and working on our garden, and Connor loves helping him water. We spend much of our time outdoors as a family, riding bikes, going for walks or runs, and exploring local zoos and museums together.
Meet Rebecca...Through Justin’s Eyes
I was first attracted to Rebecca because of her genuine smile. After talking, I realized we shared a lot of interests, and she was so easy to be around. Rebecca is honest, caring, and always supports me in everything I do. Family is incredibly important to her, and she makes it a priority--rarely missing birthdays, graduations, recitals, or other special moments.
Her work ethic is amazing; she's a nurse in the emergency department, but she still makes spending time with the people she loves effortless and fun. One of the things I admire most about her is how she gives people the benefit of the doubt. If someone is rude or mean, she never speaks badly about them, always remembering that everyone has their own struggles.
One of my favorite memories with Rebecca was during our beach vacation when we got engaged. Our friends came for the weekend, and then it was just the two of us. We rode bikes, spent time on the beach, and relaxed together. I decided to propose after our friends left, so it would be special, and in my nervousness, I even locked the keys in the house. We couldn't stop laughing, just one of many times we've shared joy and fun together without sweating the small stuff.
Watching Rebecca become a mom has been incredible. The love and joy she has for Connor is so clear, and it's been amazing seeing her spend more time teaching, playing with, and guiding him. Being a mom brings her so much happiness, and seeing her with Connor makes me love her even more.
Facts About Rebecca
Rebecca loves turning our vegetables from our garden into home-cooked meals, especially homemade pasta. She enjoys teaching Connor how to make it alongside her and creating special moments in the kitchen. She also loves going for runs, reading, and being outdoors. She cherishes the simple everyday moments we share as a family.
Meet Connor
Connor is the sweetest boy with a joyful, adventurous spirit. We often joke that he's our little "wilderness explorer" because he loves being outdoors and discovering everything around him. He especially loves animals, particularly horses and dogs, and we often take time to walk and see the horses nearby. Connor is incredibly loving and friendly, happily saying hello to almost everyone we meet. He adores his family, especially Winnie, our dog, and brings so much happiness wherever he goes. He loves books and will often pick out his favorites and bring them over for us to read, sitting and listening to story after story. He also loves swimming and spending time at the beach.
Meet our dog, Winston
"Winnie," as his friends call him, is our 11-year-old black lab. Justin's cousin's dog had puppies, and we happily brought him home with us. He is a big teddy bear, sweet with everyone he meets, and an all-around wonderful dog. He quickly became Connor's best friend. Despite his size, Winston is convinced he is a lap dog and always ready to cuddle. His favorite day of the week is "Eggy Sunday," as my mom calls it, when we go to my parent's house for brunch and the dogs get their own plate of eggs.
Our Home
We live in a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom two-story home. We have a quaint backyard with vegetable gardens and room to play. The backyard is our favorite because we love to cook on the grill and enjoy meals out there together. It is a great space to entertain family and friends, which makes our house truly feel like home.
Our neighborhood is large with lots of families, a playground, and a baseball field. The neighborhood frequently hosts events, especially in the fall. Halloween is the biggest event and our favorite. Our swim club is very close to our home, and there is an equestrian park within walking distance. Living in our neighborhood has the additional benefit of being adjacent to our family and friends, which makes it ideal for us. Our neighborhood is very safe, and we enjoy taking walks after dinner.
Rebecca’s Family:
I have a big family that is very close. We all truly enjoy spending time together and do so often. We celebrate everyone's birthdays and gather for every holiday. Some of my family even works at the same hospital as I do, and if it's not busy, we'll meet up during shifts just to see each other. After work, if we're on the same schedule, we'll often grab dinner or takeout and head to someone's house. We always say how funny it is that some people dread family gatherings, because we are the opposite--we can't wait to be together. My dad, mom, and brothers all have a great sense of humor, and you can often find us laughing until our sides hurt.
Now, it's even more special experiencing all of this with Connor. He loves being around family and brings so much joy and energy to every gathering. We attend church together and then have Sunday brunch, which we call "Eggy Sunday." Connor looks forward to this time each week, especially getting to be with everyone--and of course, making sure the dogs get their share of eggs too, since they're part of the family.
My parents cannot wait to continue being grandparents, and my brothers love being uncles to Connor and are excited to grow those relationships even more. Growing up, my parents took us to museums, events, and exhibits so we could learn about different cultures and experience new things, and they now love doing the same with Connor. My parents are the kindest and most generous people I know. My father was a police officer, and my mother is a nurse. Even with busy schedules, God and family always came first for them--and still do.
Justin's Family:
My family is very supportive and kind to one another. Family is very important to each of them, and we are all intentional about making time to spend together. My family has a family reunion each year, which everyone looks forward to. It was a tradition my grandparents started and has been passed down to each generation after them. Unfortunately, my family is more spread out than Rebecca's, so we do not get to see them as often as we would like. Therefore, things like Christmas and the family reunion are very important to us all.
Growing up, every year my family (including extended family) would go to Canada for a family vacation. Everyone would go fishing, water skiing, have bonfires, and go swimming. Every family took a turn preparing a home-cooked meal to share with each other. We loved going to Canada because everyone could be together and enjoy outdoor activities. Now, it's been really special to bring Connor into these traditions and watch him experience them for the first time. He especially loves being outside, exploring, and spending time with everyone.
My dad loves teaching all the kids how to fish and water ski, which is where I learned how to do this as well. To this day, my dad takes his grandchildren out on his boat and teaches them how to crab and fish. He is very handy as well and loves teaching anyone who will listen how to build and fix things. My mom enjoys baking and has taught her grandchildren how to bake and cook different recipes. They love spending time with their grandchildren and watching them grow up, and they especially love getting to make memories with Connor. We all look forward to continuing these traditions and hopefully adding another little one to the bunch!
Our Friends
We are incredibly grateful to have such a close-knit group of friends nearby who truly feel like family. We spend a lot of time together and love creating traditions for our families and kids. Each year, we host an Easter egg hunt that all the kids look forward to, and in the fall, we have a Halloween movie night where we set up a projector in the backyard--everyone comes in their Halloween pajamas, and we watch a movie while making s'mores. We also plan beach days together, giving the kids time to play and the adults time to relax and catch up. Beyond these traditions, we're always finding reasons to gather, whether it's celebrating birthdays or simply enjoying each other's company. Having such a supportive and fun group of friends is something we truly cherish.
Our Traditions
When it comes to traditions, we have many surrounding the holidays, but Christmas is definitely our favorite. The day after Thanksgiving, we begin decorating our home while enjoying leftovers from the day before, and we head out to pick out our Christmas tree. We love going to a local farm where we cut the tree down ourselves--there are even reindeer, which makes it extra special. Throughout the season, we spend time with family enjoying Christmas lights, whether it's visiting a display, walking through our neighborhood, or driving around with hot chocolate to see decorated homes. Connor especially loves this part--every time he sees the lights, he says "wow," which makes it even more magical. On Christmas Eve, we attend church with our friends, and then gather back at our home with friends and family to celebrate with good food and time together. Before bed, Connor gets a new pair of Christmas pajamas as he gets ready for Santa to come.
Christmas morning is spent quietly at home, just the three of us, before the rest of the day fills with visiting and celebrating with our families. We cherish this season as a time to slow down, focus on our faith, and create meaningful memories together--something we look forward to sharing as our family continues to grow.
Our Promise
Words cannot express how grateful we are that you would take moments out of your day to learn more about us. We are in awe of your selflessness and the love you have for your child. The only way we know how to thank you is to end this time with some promises.
If you choose us to parent your child, we promise to always love them without bounds. We know there will be ups and downs, but you have our commitment to support and encourage them through it all. We promise to raise your child to know what an amazing person you are and that we honor the role you play in their life. We want them to be proud of their story and know they came from love. We promise your baby will grow up knowing the value of family and that the Lord has a purpose for their life.
If God leads you to the path of parenting, then your child will be blessed to have an amazing mother. We cannot wait to meet you and are praying for you.
Sincerely,
Rebecca and Justin
