Our Why
We've dreamed of becoming parents since before we were married. Starting a family has always been one of our deepest hopes, and we've spent the last ten years praying and waiting for the chance to welcome children into our lives.
Our experience with infertility has shaped us in lasting ways. It's deepened our faith, strengthened our relationship, and taught us patience, compassion, and resilience. We know those qualities will help us be loving, steady, and present parents.
We feel called to adoption with open hearts and a deep sense of purpose. More than anything, we want to provide a child with a safe, joyful, and loving home--a place where they are truly known, supported, and cherished every single day.
Our Story
We met in college through mutual friends. After college, we dated long-distance while Alex finished school. That time apart taught us how to communicate well and reminded us how meaningful the simple, everyday moments are, like cooking dinner together or walking the dogs after work. We eventually settled in the same city, built a life we loved, and got married in 2016.
Since then, we've grown through life's joys and challenges--supporting each other through career changes, moves, and ten years of trying to grow our family. After many years of unsuccessful fertility treatments, we came to adoption with full hearts and deep hope.
We've always known we wanted to be parents. While our path has been different from what we initially imagined, it has shaped us into a strong, loving team. We're grateful for the love and friendship that brought us together, and we're honored and excited to grow our family through adoption.
Meet Brian
Brian is dependable, funny, and endlessly kind. He's the kind of person who quietly helps others without ever expecting anything in return. He's patient, selfless, and someone people naturally trust.
A hard-working engineer, Brian brings that same focus and drive into everything he does--whether it's baking from scratch, fixing something around the house, or planning the next vacation. His intelligence shines in both his career and home life. He's analytical and detail-oriented, but also imaginative and calm under pressure. He has a natural ability to take in complex situations and find a smart, steady way forward.
Brian enjoys spending time outdoors--walking the dogs, kayaking, hiking, and grilling on the weekends. He also loves digging into the details. Whether it's organizing a project, learning how something works, or solving a tricky problem, he brings curiosity and creativity to everything he does. He's a big baseball fan and looks forward to sharing that love of the game as a dad--whether it's playing catch in the backyard or cheering from the stands.
He is most at home surrounded by family, out in nature, or relaxing with the dogs. Steady and thoughtful, Brian will be the kind of dad who shows up every day with love, laughter, and quiet strength.
Meet Alex
Alex is warm, joyful, and fiercely loyal. She lights up every room and makes our house feel like home. Whether she's working out, planning a family dinner, or caring for our dogs, she does everything with love. She's also the cook in our home and loves bringing people together through meals. She even cooks homemade meals for our dogs! Alex is a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about health and wellness. In her free time, she enjoys reading and creative hobbies like painting, sewing, and quilting. She also loves being outdoors and makes sure our adventures are filled with beauty and balance. She will be an amazing mom--she already takes care of everyone around her with so much heart.
Our Home
We live in a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood--full of kids riding bikes, parents chatting on the sidewalk, and neighbors who truly look out for one another. Many of our neighbors are lifelong friends, including several Brian has known since childhood. It's a close-knit and supportive community, with an elementary school, playground, and neighborhood pool all just a short walk away.
Our home is a cozy split-level filled with warmth and light. Sunshine pours in during both sunrise and sunset, giving our living spaces a calm, welcoming glow. It's not uncommon to find one of our dogs snoozing in a sunbeam, adding to the peaceful feel of our home. We've created spaces for connection--like our kitchen and dining room where we love gathering with friends and family--as well as plenty of room for play, rest, and quiet time. Our backyard is one of our favorite spots to relax, play with the dogs, or enjoy a peaceful afternoon outdoors.
Daily walks with our dogs often turn into conversations with neighbors and reminders of just how safe, welcoming, and full of life this place is. More than anything, every room of our house reflects the love and life we've built together.
Our Pets
Our home wouldn't be the same without our two Australian Shepherds--Miko (12) and Ozzie (5). They're both incredibly loving, full of personality, and bring so much joy to our lives.
Miko is our calm and gentle soul. He has the heart of a comfort dog--completely "go with the flow" and so in tune with people's emotions. He's the kind of dog who can turn anyone into a dog lover. He enjoys cozy naps on the couch and swimming at the beach.
Ozzie is playful and curious. He follows us everywhere and loves to be involved in whatever we're doing--whether that's laundry, yard work, or making dinner. He's always close by, ready to observe or make us laugh with his silly personality. He especially loves playing fetch and will happily chase a ball as long as someone's willing to throw it.
Both dogs are wonderful with people, especially children. They've been dressed up, cuddled, and even "ridden" during playtime--and they patiently go along with it all. We know they'll be amazing companions to a child one day.
Our Hobbies & Adventures
We love traveling, especially visiting new cities and checking out different baseball stadiums. When we can, we bring the dogs along for the adventure.
We spend a lot of time outdoors--kayaking, hiking, golfing, or playing pickleball--and love a quiet night in just as much as a weekend getaway. We also enjoy working out together to stay healthy and energized.
We're happiest when we're spending time together, whether that's hosting friends for dinner or taking a long walk through the neighborhood with our dogs. We can't wait to share all of this--and more--with a child one day.
Family & Support
Family is everything to us. We're both one of three children and have close relationships with our parents, siblings, and extended families. With 20-25 cousins each, we come from large, loving families where gathering often and supporting one another is just part of how we were raised.
We're fortunate that many of our relatives live nearby, and we see them often--whether it's a casual visit, a birthday dinner, or an evening of board games and catching up. Our home has become a natural gathering place for the family. We love hosting--whether it's Thanksgiving, Easter, or a regular weeknight with a few extra chairs at the table. It means a lot to us to create space for connection and tradition.
Many of our siblings & cousins have children of their own, and we're blessed to be godparents to a few of them. We look forward to raising our child surrounded by this same kind of love--growing up with "cousins" to play with, older relatives to learn from, and a whole community of people who will cheer them on every step of the way.
Traditions
The little things we do again and again--Sunday brunch, holiday dinners, board games with family--have become the traditions that anchor us. They help us stay close to each other, our faith, and the people we love most.
Every Sunday starts with church and ends with a family brunch--a tradition that brings together loved ones for food, laughter, and quality time. We also love board games and almost never have a family gathering without one.
We usually host Thanksgiving, and sometimes Christmas and Easter, too. We also make annual trips to visit extended family and close friends who live farther away, because those relationships are important to us and always worth the effort.
As parents, we're excited to build new traditions too--celebrating birthdays in meaningful ways, setting aside special one-on-one time with mom or dad, involving our child in cooking and family meals, and making time for family walks, bike rides, and game nights. We hope to create a home where traditions--both big and small--become cherished memories.
Faith and Community
Our church community has become a backbone for us over the last few years. They've been a great source of support through our journey with infertility and as we prepare to adopt. Along the way, we've formed many close friendships within the parish.
We've also started to give back in small ways: Alex leads a Women's Bible study group, and Brian is active with the Knights of Columbus, an organization focused on charity and supporting families through community service. Together, we volunteer with our parish's marriage preparation program--something we've found not only strengthens our connection to our church community, but also to each other.
Our faith shapes how we live--helping us grow in patience, kindness, and joy. It gives us peace and strength during tough times, and reminds us to trust God and show love to others every day.
Promises To Our Child
We promise to raise you in a home where love, faith, and respect guide every step of your journey. We want you to always know that you were created for a special purpose -- unique and beautiful -- carefully fashioned by God's hand.
